Animal "Who am I?"

This is a 'who am I' game. Everyone should know how to play, it's rather simple. The theme is ANIMALS.
Post 6 clues, poetic is always nice. (Though we don't need it.) Then everyone keeps guessing, and whomever gets the correct answer sets up some clues.
I shall start.
1- My name starts with a C.
2- I like to climb from tree to tree.
3- I am an eater of all kind of food.
4- Zoologists never knew I ate meat until a woman found it out.
5- My kind are sometimes known to kill people.
6- My DNA differs from that of a human's by 1%.
Who am I?
